# The Dancing Shadow

Danny loved to play music before bed. Tonight, he picked up his favourite maraca and shook it.

*Chika-Chika-Chika!*

He shone his flashlight on the wall. A big, black shadow danced up and down as Danny played the tune. Danny stopped shaking the maraca and sat perfectly still, but on the wall, the shadow did not stop dancing.

*Tap-Tap-Tap!*

The shadow began tapping its feet to its own spooky rhythm. Two glowing yellow eyes suddenly opened on the plain white wall. Then, it clapped its shadowy hands together with a soft *whoosh!*

The bedroom grew freezing cold, and Danny was terrified. He watched as the shadow picked up its own ghostly trumpet and began to dance even more spookily. Then, it played a chilling note.

*Toot!*

Danny shivered as he saw the shadow open its mouth and whisper in his ear,

**"Can I join the band?"**

Danny could never forget the dancing figure.
